I received the Krakow electric video along with some complimentary single CDs from The Company, fast and reliable as usual.
I was a little worried based on some complaints about the sound quality of the video but found that they were incorrect. In fact, I was quite surprised how well this video was done. The sound quality is very good with no hissing or dropouts as some people reported. The camera work is also very good and professional for this type of show. Fish and band are in top form on this night and I am happy to have another show to complement the Loreley video from nearly 10 years earlier.
Donning his standard kilt, Fish goes for more atmosphere and is less "bouncy" than when I saw him on the Sunsets Tour. Nevertheless, his vocals are in good shape on this night. The setlist is the same as Fish Head Curry plus Boston Tea Party. The crowd is very good and notably respectful - listen to the intro to Vigil in which the place is dead quiet. That was eerie and very cool. It was also nice to see Fish have a decent size stage and lighting.
Interestingly, David Paton is barely shown - a hint of things to come? Also, Squeaky Stewart and Usher get limited air time while a camera behind Foss Paterson gives him a lot of time to show off his talents. Regardless, this is a great video and a worthwhile addition to anyone's collection. Ron Bard, 27 Mar 1998
